On Tuesday, May 30th, our local Girl Scouts and Brownies Troop #21109 of Accokeek came to visit our station and learn about fire prevention. Chief Jordan showed them the different apparatus and what they do, what firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics do, went over calling 911, how important fire exit plans are, and what to do in a fire. He even gave them homework to learn their address.
Chief Jordan also got dressed up in turnout gear and put on the SCBA to show them there was nothing to be afraid of and never to hide from firefighters.
We appreciate these young ladies for visiting us and learning all about the department! We hope to see many of them fighting fires and saving lives as future firefighters and EMTs/Paramedics!
