The Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., presents the Accokeek Training and Activities Center. As one of the largest banquet halls in Prince George’s County and Southern Maryland, it offers a blank slate to carry out your vision and the perfect event. The hall is located behind the firehouse in a separate building. It is centrally located and in close proximity to Washington, DC, Oxon Hill, Fort Washington, Waldorf and Bryans Road. It seats 300 dinner style (tables and chairs) or 400 theatre style (chairs only, generously spaced). The facility offers a choice of either five-foot round tables or eight-foot-long rectangular tables. It is a fantastic facility to host banquets, dances, anniversary parties, retirement parties, birthday parties, weddings, conferences, reunions, community meetings and much more.

If you’re not sure if we can host your event please reach out to us. But we have hosted many different events such as weddings, receptions, birthdays, retirements, awards ceremonies, theatre style events, repass, memorials, training, fundraisers, study groups, HOA meetings, support groups, speaking engagements.

For theatre style events (chairs only, no tables) the maximum guest count is 400.

 

For events like weddings and birthday parties the maximum guest count is 300. An Example of that is 38 round tables with eight chairs per table. With room for entertainment or the bridal party on the stage. Buffet tables, appetizer tables and gift tables.

We have 5 foot round tables that sit 6-10 per table, with 8 being the most comfortable. (For example, a 200 guest wedding could be 25 round tables with eight per table. With plenty of room for an aisle for the bride.)

 

We have 8 foot rectangle tables. Those would usually go around the perimeter of the building and are usually used for the food buffet/food table and cake tables. These are not usually used for seating at a formal event.

 

We also have a few 6 foot rectangle tables that fit nicely into the corners for somebody to put a printer on or a check-in table. They are small tables that work nicely in tight spaces.

Yes! The hall can accommodate live entertainment. Please keep in mind local noise ordinances though.

Absolutely. We often do weddings and receptions in the same place. There is enough room to seat all of your guests and have a ceremony aisle.
We do not cater or offering catering services. You may prepare and serve food from our commercial kitchen or bring in your own catering. We have a walk-in refrigerator freezer, ice machine, double confectionary oven, stove top, microwave and plenty of prep space. We also have a wet bar area.
Yes you can! When you speak with our hall coordinator she will speak to you about the specifics. We also offer bartenders for your event as well. Let us know if you would like that service.
No we do not, you are free to use the vendors of your choice for your event.

As much as we’d like to put a definitive time block up for you, we simply cannot. Each event is individually unique in the amount of guests, time, day, equipment. Call or text our hall coordinator after submitting your inquiry and we promise she will give you a comprehensive run down of all your available options.
