Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Installation

The Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department is proud to be involved in the Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Detector Installation program.

Prince George’s County, Maryland residents can request a free smoke alarm and fire safety inspection by calling 311 and speaking with a live agent Monday through Friday, 7 AM–7 PMAfter hours, residents can call (301) 864-SAFE (7233). 
 
Eligibility 
 
  • Residents must be homeowners, not renters
  • Residents must meet smoke alarm criteria, which includes proof of residency
 
Services
  • The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department will visit the home to install a free smoke alarm 
     
  • The department will also conduct a free Fire Safety Advisory Inspection
